New York State STOP-DWI Partners with Kubota High Limit Racing for the May 17 Event at Utica-Rome Speedway

VERNON, N.Y. (May 5, 2025) — NYS STOP DWI will present the return of Kubota High Limit Racing at Utica-Rome Speedway on Saturday, May 17. Established in 1981, STOP DWI New York is a statewide initiative focused on reducing alcohol and drug-related traffic crashes.

New York State STOP-DWI will aim to educate race fans on the responsibility of making smart choices, having a plan should any type of impairment-inducing substance be used, and keeping themselves and others safe on the roads.

“High Limit Racing brings together thousands of fans from across the Capital Region and beyond—families, friends, and racing enthusiasts who live for the rush of race day,” said Tracy Mance, NYS STOP DWI Chair. “But with that excitement comes responsibility and that’s where NYS STOP-DWI steps in. Our mission is simple: to eliminate impaired driving through education, prevention, and community engagement. Partnering with High Limit Racing allows STOP-DWI to meet people where they are—right in the heart of the action—delivering life-saving messages to an audience that listens and cares.

“This collaboration combines the wide reach of motorsports with the public safety mission of STOP-DWI, creating an opportunity to shift behaviors, start conversations, and save lives.”

New York State STOP-DWI is also promoting its STOP-DWI Have a Plan app. Available on both Apple and Android devices, the Have a Plan app is a free mobile tool that that helps users make smart decisions. With the app, users can find available non-driving transportation options, save emergency contacts, access local taxi and rideshare options, and get tips on planning a safe night out.

“In motorsports we focus a lot on driver, team and fan safety,” said Kendra Jacobs, Chief Marketing & Events Officer at Kubota High Limit Racing. “That safety, however, expands far beyond the gates of a race track. We’re an entertainment sports industry and want fans to have a good time, but with that good time comes a lot of responsibility. Partnering with New York State STOP-DWI emphasizes the importance of making sure every one gets home safely and carries those same plans and actions every time they go out.”

Returning Kubota High Limit Racing Utica-Rome Speedway winner, Rico Abreu, will return for the May 17 event, as well as Brent Marks, Brad Sweet, Tyler Courtney and the rest of the full- time “High Rollers".
