Written by Chris Moore

VERNON, NY – Thunderstruck.

On Saturday (Aug. 19) the F.X. Caprara Car Companies Thunder on the Thruway (ToTT) Series concludes at Utica-Rome Speedway.

The event is headlined by the invasion from the Tezos All-Star Circuit of Champion 410 Sprint Cars presented by Scenic View Campground, Christian Fabrication and Broedel Energy.

The 3 Bastards Brewing Modifieds, Worthington Industries Crate 602 Sportsman, and Next Generation Graphix Pro Stocks round out the program, as three champions will be crowned in the Thunder on the Thruway Series.

The six-race mini-series for all three divisions crowns a champion at the ‘Home of Heroes.’

2022 Modified Champion Alex Yankowski once again leads the standings heading into the finale. ‘Kid Rocket’ boasts a pair of runner-up finishes in the six races and another top-10 to boot.

Yankowski maintains a 25-point advantage over Dolgeville, N.Y.’s Cody Clark and a 28-point advantage over Johnstown, N.Y.’s Rocky Warner.

Clark was the winner of the last ToTT Series event on July 15 at N.Y.’s Fonda Speedway, passing Yankowski with two laps to go for the win.

In the Crate 602 Sportsman division, newly crowned Fonda Speedway champion Payton Talbot also heads the ToTT standings heading into the finale.

The South New Berlin, N.Y., native leads the standings by 21 markers over Perth, N.Y.’s Chip Constantino and 29 markers over Johnstown, N.Y.’s Tanner Warner.

Despite cutting back from racing in 2023, Rotterdam, N.Y.’s Nick Stone leads the ToTT standings with the Pro Stocks by a comfortable 31 points over Stamford, N.Y.’s Beau Ballard.

Another newly crowned Fonda Speedway champion, Ivan Joslin, rounds out the top three, 36 points out of first.
