HEAVY RAINS FORCES UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY TO CANCEL RACING THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 28

VERNON, NY-Due to heavy overnight rain and more rain forecasted for later this afternoon, Utica-Rome Speedway officials have decided to cancel Sunday’s June 28 event. On tap for Mirabito Fuel Group and Bill Herrig’s Auto Parts night was a full show of Stampede Steakhouse Modifieds, 602 Sportsman, Open Sportsman, and Pro Street Stocks plus Family Autograph night.

The next event on the Utica-Rome Speedway calendar is on July 5 when Gates-Cole Insurance and Safelite Auto Glass presents the final night of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint Central New York Speedweek. After five straight nights of racing, the ESS CNY Speedweek champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the $2,000 to win A-main event. A complete show of Stampede Steakhouse Modifieds, 602 Sportsman, Open Sportsman, and Pro Street Stocks is also planned along with a huge fireworks show is also planned. Gates for this exciting show open at 3 p.m. with racing at 5:30 p.m.
