The restart saw fourth place starter take over the lead and as field complete lap two, the caution lights blinked on again, this time for point leader Stewart Friesen who had slowed in the fourth turn. Friesen ducked into the pits and never returned.
Taylor held on to the lead when the green lights came back on with eighth place starter Casey Williams now in pursuit. By lap six, Williams was hounding Taylor for the lead and as the duo went through turn four to complete lap seven, there was contact with Williams getting by for the lead and 12th place starter Ronnie Johnson also going by to grab the runner up spot. Moments later, the caution flag flew for the final when Kenny Tremontís mount came to a stop in turn two.
Williams again jumped out front when the green flag was waving again with Johnson in his tracks. During the long green flag run, Williams steadily pulled away from the field and at the halfway point Johnson, Steve Hulsizer, Bill Trexler, Jr., and Matt Hulsizer rounding out the top five.
The last half of the event went caution free and nobody had nothing for Williams as he ran off to score his second career win with Ronnie Johnson, Steve Hulsizer, Trexler, and Todd Burley chasing. Rounding out the top ten positions were Matt Hulsizer, Pat Ward, Alan Johnson, Jason Rood, and Willy Decker.
In the Race of Champions Sportsman Series 30 lapper, third place starter Matt Janczuk wasted little time getting to the front of the field as he charged by Chris Mackey on lap two to take the lead. Despite several cautions, Janczuk was able to hold off any challenges from Mackey, tour regular Jeff Crambo, Jeremy Vunk, and Steve Way to continue to lead the way.
A lap 26 caution allowed the field to back on to the rear bumper of Janczuk, but he proved to be too strong again as he pulled away to take his sixth win of the season at the Vernon half mile with Mackey, Vunk, Way, and Crambo rounding out the top five positions. Positions six through ten were filled by Claude Hutchings, Jr., Jack Miller, Joe Harrington, AJ Filbeck, and Tye Rood.
The Pro Stock 20 lap feature was on the track with one lap complete when the rains came, halting the eveningís activities and postponing the remainder of the event until August 28, along with the Pure Stock 15 lap feature event.
