PAUL JENSEN AND MITCH GIBBS COME HOME FOR 2008 A. Boise Two fan favorites from Utica Rome Speedway have come back home to the Speedway for the 2008 racing season.  Paul Jensen in his 31st year of racing made the decision to claim Utica Rome as home after Thunder Mtn. Speedway Dropped the Modifieds from their 2008 schedule. Jensen has had much success at Utica Rome as he owns 4 track titles, 1989 and 1990 and again in 1992 and 1993. Since his first win on July 16th 1989 Paul has 29 feature wins at Utica Rome and was the 2007 Track Champion at Thunder MTN. Speedway. Over the years, Jensen's fan base has grown and he continues to be one of those driver's that many fans would love to see grace victory lane. After a solid seventh place finish on opening night it's clear that Paul Jensen has the Wholesale Mulch Teo/Enders ride ready for the stout competition here at the Utica Rome Speedway. Paul Jensen owns and operates Jensen Speed Equipment located in Edmeston, NY. The Former Fulton Victoria 200 winner is looking forward to the 2008 racing season. * On a side note We would like to congratulate Paul's Daughter Lisa as she is the 2008 Class Valedictorian at the Edmeston Central High School. Mitch Gibbs started the 2007 racing season at Utica Rome but had to sideline the 2g team after just a few races. It was something Gibbs had a hard time doing as Utica Rome has been home for many years. Lack of funding forced the team to call it quits. The lack of horse power made it impossible to keep up. "I felt like I was in the way all the time and that's not the way I want to race". Gibbs stated. Over the summer of 2007, Mitch met up with car owner Gary Mann. What started off as a "meet and greet" and a chance for Gibbs to race in the New York Truck Parts #55 at Orange County Fair Speedway turned into a permanent deal between Mann and Gibbs. Another former Track Champion to the Speedway, Gibbs has racked up 21 Utica Rome wins with the first on June 2nd. 1996. In his 28 years of racing Mitch has collected 13 track titles(one in 1996 from Utica Rome) and a career 172 wins from speedway's all across the east.
