2017 BIG BLOCK / SMALL BLOCK MODIFIED RULES

WE WILL FOLLOW THE 2017 DIRT RULEBOOK AS A GUIDELINE. THAT CAN BE VIEWED BY CLICKING HERE

WEIGHTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE PER RACE TRACK’S DISCRETION IF MANAGEMENT DEEMS THERE IS AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE WITH A PARTICULAR ENGINE PROGRAM.

  1. EXCEPTIONS –
  2. All Big Block Modified utilizing a Big Block engine must maintain a minimum weight of 2,500 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  3. All Big Block Modifieds utilizing a DIRTcar 500 Big Block engine must maintain a minimum weight of 2,450 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  4. All Modifieds utilizing a DIRTcar 358 Modified engine with the Brodix “Spec” heads, ported intake and “tri-y” exhaust must maintain a minimum weight of 2,400 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  5. All Modifieds utilizing a Brodix “Spec.” DIRTcar 358 Modified engine with the stock intake manifold (reference 15.3.A. 15.1.3; 15.1.2 A.) and spec. Schoenfeld headers and a steel or aluminum oil pan must maintain a minimum weight of 2,350 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  6. All Modifieds utilizing the Wegner Motorsports W-16 engine combination must have a 650 CFM carburetor only and maintain a minimum weight of 2,350 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  7. All Modifieds utilizing a ported steel head DIRTcar 358 engine, or Brodix ported “Spec” heads must maintain a minimum weight of 2,400 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  8. (Hunt’s Machine) LS3 spec engine— must maintain a minimum weight of 2,400 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  9. (Hunt’s Machine) LSX7 454 spec engine — must maintain a minimum weight of 2,500 lbs. following the completion of any event.
  10. Air Flow Research Oval 300 spec head engine must maintain a minimum weight of 2,500 lbs. following the completion of any event.

*Track scale pounds (TSP) are final.

*A (1”) number must be displayed on the cowl of racecar representing the weight pertaining to your engine package (ex. 2400).

  1. CARBURETOR – Please refer to DIRT rule 15.1.1 in the DIRT Rulebook.
  2. SMALL BLOCKS – Wet Sump only. No other degree of valves on Small Blocks (23 degrees only).
  3. TIRES – DIRTcar legal Hoosiers, D300’s, D400 & D500’s ONLY!
  4. LETTERING – As per the DIRTcar rule 15.7.15 Section I: The letters of the driver’s last name must be a minimum of 6”-inches in height and be positioned under, through and/or above number on both sides of the car.
  5. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Frame/Roll Cage update: A piece of tubing, a minimum of 1-1/4” in outside diameter and .-095”-inches in thickness, must be installed vertically and must extend through the car into the bottom frame rail or extend back to the union at the top of the door and rear main hoop joint. The tubing must be installed in a manner that does not impede the driver exiting the cockpit. The tubing must be mounted a minimum of 9”-inches and a maximum of 12”-inches on the roof bar from the existing rear roll cage hoop. This must be installed symmetrically on both sides of the roll cage. Existing cars must be retrofitted with this piece of tubing.
  6. WHEEL COVERS – No wheel covers held on by dzeus buttons or similar type fasteners will be permitted. Only wheel covers that are bolted to the beadlock or are a part of the beadlock will be permitted. Foam inserts will be permitted.
