Constant Mist Forces Postponement of Utica-Rome Speedway Opener AGAIN; DIRTcar 358-Modified Series Mother’s Day Special Highlights Sunday, May 12 Program

VERNON, NY – It looked like Sunday was going to be the day for Utica-Rome Speedway to finally get the 2019 started, but sadly Mother Nature had other plans.  The forecast called rain free day right up until it wasn’t.  A steady mist moved in over the speedway just after 3pm and never relented forcing the speedway to cancel the action as over 100 cars filled the pit area.

The cancellation now forces the speedway to look ahead to another huge opening weekend on May 12.  St. Lawrence Radiology Associates PC presents a program featuring the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series in a 100-lap feature with $4,000 going to the winner.  Also competing on Sunday is the Broedel Fuel Group DIRTcar Sportsman and the Ted’s Body Shop DIRTcar Pro Stocks.

Pit gates open at 3 pm while spectator gates swinging open at 3:30pm with the heat races beginning promptly at 6pm for opening night. Adult general admission for the opener is set at $20 with seniors/military members/students 17-18 just $18 while kids 16 and under are free.  Pit admission for the night is $35 for DIRTcar members and $40 for non-members.

If you can’t make it to the track you can catch all the action on DirtTrackDigest.tv. Nearly every event throughout the 2019 racing season will be broadcast.
