THE WILD ANIMAL PARK AND BROEDEL ENERGY PRESENTS HUGE SHOW OF SHOW LUCAS OIL EMPIRE SUPER SPRINTS, GATES-COLE AUTO INSURANCE MODIFIEDS, BROEDEL ENERGY SPORTSMAN, AND PRO STOCKS

VERNON, NY- Race fans know what Memorial Day Weekend means at the Utica-Rome Speedway, and that is the invasion of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, who will join a full show of Gates-Cole Auto Insurance DIRTcar Modifieds, Broedel Energy DIRTcar Sportsman, and DIRTcar Pro Stocks.  This Sunday’s May 28 program will be presented by The Wild Animal Park, a unique zoo experience for the whole family located just a short drive from the speedway. 

The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints field is always a talented one when they visit with the Vernon oval, with drivers such as Jason Barney, Steve Poirier, Paul Kinney, Coleman Gulick, Matt Tanner, Brandon Kidd, Matt Billings, Chuck Hebing, Chad Miller, Jeff Cook, Kelly Hebing, Jonathan Preston, Pauli Coligiavanni, Brett Wright, Shawn Donath, and many more.  As is usual, several drivers could be doing duty as the look to compete in both the Lucas Oil ESS and Gates-Cole Auto Insurance, such Danny Varin, Bobby Varin, Mike Mahaney, and potentially more.  We have no idea who will take home the checkered flag but we do know it will be Excitement Guaranteed right down to the final lap. 

In the Gate-Cole Auto Insurance Modifieds, the list of talent continues with drivers such as Matt Sheppard, Danny Varin, Mike Mahaney, Pat Ward, Tim Fuller, Claude Hutchings Jr,. Rob Bellinger, Mike Maresca, Marc Johnson, Alan Johnson, Alan Barker, Randy Shantel, Darwin Greene, Jessey Mueller, Steve Way, Brandon Walters, Jack Miller, Beth Bellinger, Tim Mayne, and Steve Paine have all competed weekly thus far.  Larry Wight and Matt Sheppard have each found victory lane once so far. 

Another stellar field of Broedel Energy DIRTcar Sportsman is expected this Sunday as well, a field that should include Rocky Warner, Chris Mackey, Jason Rood, Stephen Denton, AJ Filbeck, Charles Tibbitts, Daryl Nutting, AJ Miller, Kyle Kiehn, Mark Effner, Brent Joy, and many more.  Dave Marcuccilli and Rocky Warner were victors in the two early season events completed so far.

On a weekly basis, the DIRTcar Pro Stocks put on some of the best racing week after week at the Utica-Rome Speedway.  With drivers like Pete Stefanski, Mike Welch, Luke Horning, Gus Hollner, Nick, Stone, Ernie Staelans, Jim Normoyle, and many more racing side by side nearly every lap, excitement is always high until the checkered flag falls.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. with grandstands opening at 3:30 p.m., and racing set to begin at 6 p.m.
