MOTHER NATURE WINS AGAIN AT UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY, ENDS PLANS FOR HUGE DAY OF RACING ON SUNDAY AUGUST 14

VERNON, NY- Due to heavy rains and flooding, and a forecast with more predicted, Utica-Rome Speedway officials had to make the tough decision to cancel the huge day of racing that was planned for Sunday August 14.  It has been a tough weekend in Central New York with weather as the much needed rain seemed to come all at once, causing flooding and damage throughout the region.

Scheduled for this Sunday was the remainder of the Victoria 200 event for the Race of Champions Dirt Modifieds and Gnome Cup for the Go Nuclear Late Model Series, rain delayed from May 22, and another full program that included the annual Night of Legends presented by Turn 1, LLC.  That event was to include another big event for the Race of Champions Dirt Modifieds plus the SUNY Canton 602 Sportsman, G&I Homes of Vernon Pro Stocks, and Crate Late Models.

Details on rescheduling of any of the events planned, including the remainder of the May 22 program, will be forthcoming.
